Daily Delicious: Paleo simplicity with Paleo “Hamburger Helper”

Sometimes, you just need a simple, Paleo meal! You know what I’m talking about. It’s getting late, it’s been a long day, and you have little energy for cooking.

Why not make up some Paleo Hamburger Helper?!

Perhaps the simplest I’ve seen is a recipe posted to Facebook on Sunday via Butterflies, Peace Paleo — a recipe the blogger calls a favorite Sunday night recipe!

Three ingredients, people!

  • green cabbage
  • butter/ghee
  • hamburger meat
  • avocado

Cook the cabbage and hamburger meat in a big pot, and top your bowl of Paleo Hamburger Helper with some avocado!

I used to do a similar type of Paleo Hamburger Helper using roasted cauliflower as a base! Delicious!

You can definitely do variations of this as well — if you’d like to get more creative and complicated.

For example, toss in some fire-roasted tomatoes for some added flavor.

Make “Taco Hamburger Helper” by using some homemade taco seasoning, cabbage, bell peppers, jalapenos, salsa, guac/and/or avocado.

Use shredded chicken, or ground turkey, or ground chicken!

Make an Asian-inspired “Hamburger Helper” using sesame oil, scallions, coconut aminos, ginger and things like sugar snap peas!

Make a Sloppy Joe themed “Hamburger Helper” using cabbage, ground beef, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce!

Make a GREEK “Hamburger Helper,” using cabbage, ground lamb, cucumber, olives, and a tahini sauce.

Make a Bacon Cheeseburger “Hamburger Helper” using cabbage, ground beef, bacon, cheese, and a mayo-type sauce.

I mean, the ideas are endless!

This would make an awesome lazy weekend dinner, or busy weeknight dinner!
