It is hot, hot, HOT in Wisconsin this week — and we’ve even got a heat advisory in effect through Friday, which means we could see heat indices at or above 100 degrees.
With the hot weather this week, I have been doing my best to drink a lot of water, but it hasn’t been difficult, because I’ve been So. Thirsty.
This got me to thinking about creative drinks that can be enjoyed on a hot, summer day.
For Wednesday’s Daily Delicious, I decided to feature three cool drinks to enjoy on a hot day — one for the morning, one for the afternoon and one for the evening!
Those who read this blog can probably guess that on a hot morning, I would cool down with a banana/coconut milk smoothie. I might even get really crazy and throw in some cocoa powder and/or almond butter to make it extra special!

To cool off from a hot, sticky afternoon, I would have a refreshing, homemade flavored water.
Iced, flavored water can be made using things like lemon, lime, cucumber, fruit (like strawberries, blueberries) and even herbs like mint etc.

Finally, in the evening, I would enjoy an iced NorCal Margarita!
These Paleo margaritas are made using tequila, lime juice and water, or soda water for those who like the fizz.

An iced coffee is another option for staying cool in the hot sun — but for some reason, I’m not a fan of iced coffee. Also, coffee is dehydrating, so you’d have to make sure to get your water in!
