At some point this week I may post a Daily Delicious that is an actual MEAL or FOOD item vs. strictly desserts — but desserts are calling to me this week!
For some reason, I’m craving things like chocolate mousse, chocolate pudding, and anything with bananas.
I saw THIS RECIPE, posted to Facebook by a favorite blogger of mine, Vanessa at Healthy Living How-To (yes, I have posted her recipes before)!
This recipe is for almond butter chocolate chip cookies WITH BACON!
I rarely make treats like this, because then I will eat them!
However, in my dessert mindset this week — these just looked good! I wouldn’t mind a short stack of them with a big glass of chilled coconut milk!
The recipe calls for bacon, almond butter, egg, vanilla, baking soda and dark chocolate chips.
Vanessa uses an ingredient called Swerve, which is a natural sweetener that measures cup-for-cup like sugar.
I tend to shy away from sweeteners, both natural and artificial. I would likely just make the cookies without the Swerve, but if the cookies needed sweetness, I would probably use honey. Just a personal preference!
