EATS!: Saturday’s lunch from the grocery store’s deli

I was soooo hungry by the time I ate for the first time on Saturday evening around 8:00 p.m.!

Saturday’s “lunch” came from the deli at the grocery store.

I tried to make “healthy” choices — choosing a broccoli/cauliflower salad, a kale/tomato salad and a Cuban quinoa salad.

As I was ordering the salads at the deli, the employee who was helping me out, who happened to be a cute old lady said: “I’ve never tried this salad. I’m too scared.”

“Why?” I replied.

“Well doesn’t it make your poop green?”

“Um, no, not that I know of ma’am!” I said, laughing.

“Oh, I just figured it was like green beer on St. Patty’s Day — with the artificial food coloring,” the employee said.

“Nope. No food coloring in kale!” I informed her.

This lady found me in the store as I was headed to the checkout — and said she gave the kale salad a try and loved it.

I enjoyed this meal before heading into the kitchen to make some sausage/grapes and prep the week’s meals.
